Chapter 344: My Honey
Chapter 344: My Honey
Alistair Forrest let out a long sigh and said, "I’ve been looking at stones every single day. I’m getting completely burned out. It’s rare to see a beauty like her, so how could I not be smitten?"
His two bodyguards, familiar with his personality, chose to remain silent. Their young master was smitten by any beauty he saw, let alone one with such a strong personality.
The corners of Alistair Forrest’s mouth curved upward. "I want to pursue her. And just like that, it’s decided!"
The two bodyguards shook their heads in unison but didn’t try to talk him out of it. After all, while their young master was extremely shrewd in business—even known for being as cunning as a fox—he had an extraordinary fixation on beautiful things. It was about time he hit a wall.
Alistair Forrest stroked his chin and asked his bodyguards, "Tell me, what should I do to get my Honey to notice me?"p>
Since Vera Xavier hadn’t told him her name, he gave her one. He didn’t know why, but even though she hadn’t seemed the least bit gentle—in fact, she was quite fierce—he just felt she was a "Honey."
One of the bodyguards couldn’t help but ask, "What about that Miss Susan who was arguing with her? She looked pretty good too. Why aren’t you thinking about pursuing her, Young Master?"
Alistair Forrest replied with a look of disdain, "That girl is worlds apart from my Honey. She’s passable, I guess, but that arrogant attitude, acting like she’s the greatest in the world, is a complete turn-off."
"Also, her looks aren’t even in the same league as Honey’s, okay? Honey is high-class and aloof, a beauty with a kind heart. That other one is just cold and nauseating, an ugly person with a wicked heart. If you ever compare that woman to my sweet Honey again, I’ll fire you!"
The two bodyguards shivered in unison. ’Young Master, your taste is fine, but aren’t you exaggerating just a little?’
Susan Caldwell wore a cold expression the entire way back. She didn’t look much like Rona Langdon when she smiled, but at this moment, with that grim and vicious look on her face, she bore an uncanny resemblance to her.
Skylar Crowe was crying the entire time. "Susan, why didn’t you stand up for me today?"
The hotel they were staying at was just across the road, not far from Vera Xavier’s. The only reason Skylar Crowe had run into Vera today was that she’d heard some flowers were in bloom nearby and had come to see the excitement.
Susan Caldwell felt that Vera Xavier had humiliated her today, and it was all because of Skylar Crowe.
She was incredibly irritated at the moment and had no intention of comforting Skylar Crowe. She said coldly, "Shut up! You’re the one who started trouble and made a mess, and you even dragged me into it and humiliated me. You have the nerve to blame me?!"
Skylar Crowe froze, stunned. In her mind, Susan Caldwell had always been so good-natured. She couldn’t quite process being spoken to like this.
She couldn’t help but ask, "Susan, why are you being so harsh with me?"
Hearing this, Susan Caldwell took a deep breath. Skylar Crowe was still useful to her; it wasn’t the right time for a complete falling out. Suppressing her temper, she said, "It’s not that I didn’t want to help you. You saw the situation. That woman is obviously not someone to be trifled with, and she had backup. We only had Leo Wright with us. There’s no way we could have won in a straight-up fight."
"I guess you’re right," Skylar Crowe said with a pout. "That woman is just so arrogant. We have to find a way to teach her a lesson, otherwise she’ll think we’re just a couple of pushovers!"
