Chapter 560 - 579: Genius Huo Jia
Truly exceptional people had advantages even when it came to choosing their dorms.
He didn’t like living with too many people, so he’d applied for a two-person room, which he would share with his distant cousin, Huo Deng.
Huo Deng was a chatterbox. "See? Look at all the eyes on you. They’re all jealous of your talent."
"Pointless. Instead of being jealous, they should be working harder." Huo Jia was cold. "Can they get to S-rank just by staring? They’d be better off spending this time meditating on their spiritual power."
"...Who meditates on that while walking? Don’t tell me you actually do that?"
"And why not?" Huo Jia retorted. "To become an outstanding Mecha Soldier, you have to meditate on your spiritual power with every breath."
"..."
’In ancient times, there were workaholics. Now, there are training fanatics.’
"Hey! Cousin, look over there! Something interesting’s happening! Quick, look!"
Huo Jia glanced up.
"What is it?"
"Didn’t you see those four pretty girls walking over?"
’Girls? Women?’ After registering the keywords, he finally spotted the targets in the crowd. His gaze swept over the four faces, pausing for a split second before he quickly looked away. "You’re so childish, cousin."
"If you put even a fraction of the energy you waste talking into your training, you could apply to skip a grade."
The two continued their conversation. Huo Jia thought his cousin Huo Deng’s lack of drive was pathetic. Yet, as the man who couldn’t help but meditate on his spiritual power with every breath rounded a corner, he couldn’t resist one last glance back.

After a series of twists and turns, they finally arrived at the Mecha Department’s assembly hall.
Guided by droids, both new and returning students found their seats.
Soon, in the slightly noisy hall, a Mecha began to rise slowly from beneath the stage.
The deep-purple Mecha shimmered with an ethereal light under the spotlights. But as it ascended, everyone quickly noticed it was holding a longsword in its hand.
The longsword was mottled with faint green marks. Soon, once everyone had fallen silent, a woman’s voice rang out.
"It looks like all the students have arrived."
"First, let me introduce myself. I am Ning Xiaoyu, the combat instructor for your first-year Class A in the Mecha Department. I’ve called you here today to inform you about class assignments for this year’s students and the military training that begins tomorrow morning."
"I know you’re all in a hurry to go drink your Nutrient Liquid, so I’ll get straight to the department’s arrangements. For those of you with poor memories, please start recording."
"1. This year’s new students will be divided into 100 classes, ranging from A1 to B95. Your specific class assignments will be sent to your terminals shortly.
2. Military training for new students begins tomorrow at 6:00 AM. Please be washed and ready before then and await our department’s notification. The training site, same as in previous years, will be the Federation Star’s stationed military district. Your standard-issue training uniforms will be delivered to your dormitory doors by the management droids at 6:00 PM this afternoon.
3. Returning students will also undergo military training, same as last year. For specifics, please refer to the handbook distributed by your class advisor."
Those were the mandatory arrangements. "And one last point," she continued, "I expect all new students to take this military training seriously. The Mecha Single Soldier System isn’t like other departments at Federation University. We earn our credits in battle. Only through constant combat can you become outstanding soldiers and, in the future, enter the military corps."
As her voice faded, everyone seated received a notification from the Mecha Department with their class assignments.
Meng Chun, Jiang Qiuqiu, and Liu Tingting were all in Class A1. The A1 designation meant they were among the new students with the highest levels of spiritual power.
After reading the message, Meng Chun turned her head to ask Michelle.
"Michelle, what class are you in?"
The mature-looking blonde girl quickly put away her terminal. "I’m in a B-class."
Her demeanor was casual enough, but for some reason, the air felt a little awkward.
